October 2019

In August, Yuyu was signed with Take 3 Talent with their Commercial division and is so excited to be working with them! Following that, she had a wonderful shoot with a beauty brand for their e-commerce project which will be out soon (can’t wait to share). As well as that, Yuyu worked on two short films with two amazing Asian American female directors. 1600 is a project created by Nicole Tay that explores the recent college admission scandals through the lens of Asian American students. The three-day shoot was seamless as we all shared our thoughts and collaborated to perform Nicole’s wonderful script. The next project Quinn Chinn created by Liann Kaye presented the story of the young teen Quinn restarting her journey in finding herself as she enters Navajo High School. Liann did a brilliant job with her directorial debut, pulling things from her personal life as well as the story she hopes to further her along in a grant to make into a feature. She can’t wait to see how they turn out.

Well it’s amazing to say Yuyu has finally graduated from New York University – Tisch School of the Arts with a BFA in Drama and two minors (Media, Culture and Communication and the Business of Entertainment, Media and Technology). In the process, Yuyu was awarded by Tisch with the Outstanding Achievement in Studio Award for Stonestreet Studios 2019. From here on out, it’s the real world and she is ready to see what NYC has to offer and what she can bring to the table.

Yuyu got to work on two exciting independent shorts that are currently in post ‘On the Living‘ and ‘Staying Afloat‘. Both were such fun opportunities, working with young, up and coming creatives. Stay tuned!

She also got the wonderful opportunity to read her poetry work with NYU’s Asian American Women’s Alliance.
